On April 7-10, IBT held a webinar on the book of Jeremiah. It was led by IBT's translation consultant, biblical scholar Dr Andrei Desnitsky. The webinar was attended by representatives of IBT's Abaza, Balkar, Chamalal, Kalmyk, Kabardian, Karachay, Khakas, Ossetic and Yakut projects, as well as partner organisations working on OT translation into Kyrgyz, Modvin-Erzya and Tajik.

Borislav Arapović is the founder of the Institute for Bible Translation, a renowned Slavist, poet, member of the Swedish Society of Slavists, the Swedish Writers' Union, the Union of Croatian Writers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Doctor of Philosophy, Honoris Causa and Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

He founded IBT in 1973 with the conviction that every nation deserves to have a Bible in its own language. To this aim, Borislav Arapović initiated a large-scale effort to translate the Bible into the languages of the non-Slavic peoples of the USSR.

2nd-edition-of-the-bible-in-the-tuvan-language

Fourteen years after the initial publication of the Holy Bible in the Tuvan language of south Siberia, IBT has printed a corrected and updated 2nd edition. The first-ever translation of the Bible into Tuvan was originally published in 2011 with the stamp of approval of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Work on this translation lasted 21 years with the participation of well-known Tuvan writers Nikolai Kuular, Maria Kuzhuget, Eduard Mizhit and others.

The Institute for Bible Translation has published a reprint of the Hexapsalmоs (Six Liturgical Psalms) in the Yakut language at the request of Archbishop Roman of Yakutsk and Lensk. The Hexapsalmоs consists of the six psalms (3, 37, 62, 87, 102, 142, according to the psalm numbering in the Septuagint, the ancient Greek translation of the Old Testament) that are read in the Orthodox Church at every Matins service throughout the year.
